Back Home. A Status Report.
Well!
I am back home!
Well!
I am back home!
Alright, lets do this. Let’s try to get these last 80 miles done.
I knew Felix would come up with a brilliant plan (because he is Felix).
And sure enough, while we all sit and have breakfast he says:
We can stay the night at Andy’s place in Seattle. I get to sleep in the guest bed, Felix sleeps on the sofa.
We pick up our resupply boxes in White Pass, and spend the night in a cute little hotel room. The room is tiny but has a kitchen and a porch.
Perfect!
We make it into the little village Trout Lake with no problem. A trail angel living here seems to enjoy shuttling hikers from and to the trail head!
Happy Arrival in Cascade Locks!
We don’t need to hitch into town, the PCT goes right through it.
We are pretty close to the Bridge of the Gods now, the border to Washington!
How incredible!
So I am having breakfast with Cowboy at the Fishlake Resort.
“I am going to get a ride up to Crater Lake”, he says. “I have blisters and am done hiking for now”.
Well….
I made it back to Etna. My heart is very heavy, but I will push on.
What have we read on that blaze the other day. PCT = Persistence Creates Toughness. And I need to be more tough. Yes I do.
